The People Of Calcutta





The Calcutta pool is very large which includes not only the Bengali people, but also a number of other ethnicities. The people of Calcutta in India can be divided into several categories, namely West Bengal, and Ghoti Bengal East Bengal, Bihari, Marwari, Oriya, Anglo-Indians, Chinese, Tamil, Telegus, Malayala, Gujarati, Assamese, Caucasians Marathi, Parsi, Nepal and Europe.

Most ethnic groups live peacefully in Calcutta. However, the relationship between Hindus and Muslims a little excited. Immigrants from around the world are part of the community of Kolkata. Each ethnic group is a unique feature of its own. Parsis, who lived in Calcutta before the British occupation, was transformed into entrepreneurs by colonial powers Punjabis are an important part of the population of Calcutta. They have made valuable contributions in the fields of irrigation, warfare, technology, arts and crafts, trade and business. The Chinese deserve credit for promoting the values and religious practices of Buddhism and Confucianism. Marwari now occupy senior positions in cotton, jute and banking.
